Alterations in lower-extremity sagittal plane joint moments due to experimental knee pain and effusion during walking

چکیده
Methods Nineteen able-bodied subjects walked four different conditions (control, effusion, pain, and pain+effusion), with a week between each condition. We used previouslyused injury models of pain [1] and joint effusion [2] to the right side of the knee. The control condition consisted of no injection. For each condition, subjects completed three walking trials at three times: precondition (prior to injection(s)), condition (3 minutes post injection(s)), and postcondition (30 minutes post injections). We used a standard inverse dynamics approach (combining high speed video, ground reaction force, and anthropometric

Comparison lower limb joints stiffness in chronic low back pain patients with healthy people while walking
Introduction: Lower back pain is an orthopedic disease that affects up to 80% of people throughout their lifetime. It seems that the pattern of muscular activity is related to the components of earthquake photography and should be considered when evaluating back pain and its treatment. The aim of this study was to compare the three-dimensional lower limb joints stiffness during loading response...
متن کاملKinetics of high-heeled gait.
A within-subject comparative study of walking while wearing low-heeled sports shoes versus high-heeled dress shoes was performed to identify and describe changes in lower-extremity joint kinetics associated with wearing high-heeled shoes during level overground walking. A volunteer sample of 15 unimpaired female subjects recruited from the local community underwent quantitative measurement of s...
متن کاملEffect of Fatigue on Knee Kinematics and Kinetics During Walking in Individuals With Flat Feet
Purpose: Flat feet associates with altered knee kinematics, kinetics, as well as knee pain. Fatigue of plantar intrinsic foot muscles may increase the navicular drop. However, it is unclear how fatigue influences the knee pain in individuals with flat feet. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of fatigue on knee kinematics and kinetics in flat feet people during walking. Methods:...
متن کاملKinematics of Hip, Knee and Ankle During Cross- Slope Walking
Purpose: Little information is available on joint kinematic adaptations during walking on cross-slope surfaces (i.e. a surface incline perpendicular to the direction of locomotion). This study aimed to evaluate the effects of cross-slope surfaces on three-dimensional (3D) kinematics of hip, knee, and ankle joints during stance phase of walking. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study...
متن کاملAge-related joint moment characteristics during normal gait and successful reactive-recovery from unexpected slip perturbations.
The objective of the current study was to investigate the effects of aging on 3D lower extremity joint moments during successful reactive-recovery from unexpected slips. Unexpected slips were induced by having participants walk over a slippery floor surface. Successful reactive-recovery trials from nine young and nine elderly participants were identified and analyzed. Three-dimensional inverse ...
